Dallas Fort Worth, TX, October 29, 2026 —
Dallas County is facing renewed calls to provide clean running water to Sand Branch, a community described as having endured decades of neglect and lacking basic water infrastructure. A recent fire has highlighted the dangers associated with that absence, according to the information provided.
The available account does not say when the fire occurred, where in Sand Branch it happened, or how the lack of running water affected the response. It also does not identify who is making the call for action or describe any specific proposal, funding plan or timeline for bringing water service to the community.
The stated concern centers on access to clean running water and the risks created by the lack of basic infrastructure. Beyond noting the fire, the account does not provide details about damage, injuries, firefighting efforts or the needs of residents. Those details could not be confirmed from the information available.
The reference to decades of neglect points to a longstanding issue rather than a newly reported infrastructure gap, but no history of prior efforts or decisions is provided. The account also does not clarify what agency or agencies would be responsible for delivering water service, or whether any work is planned or underway.
For now, the information establishes the broad issue facing Sand Branch: a call for clean running water amid a prolonged infrastructure shortfall, with a recent fire bringing attention to the consequences of its absence. Further details about the fire, the people calling for action and any county response were not provided.
