Knowesis Awarded Five Year Contract to Support Awards Management for the Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs

FAIRFAX, Va., Sept. 2, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — Knowesis, a mid-sized government contractor with two decades history supporting Defense Health Agency (DHA) and the Military Health System, today announced it has been awarded a five year contract by the U.S. Department of War’s Congressionally Directed Medical Research Programs (CDMRP) to provide awards management support across the full portfolio of CDMRP research programs.
Under the contract, Knowesis will support and administratively manage biomedical research awards made across CDMRP’s research programs, supporting functions throughout the award lifecycle. The work will ensure that CDMRP-funded researchers , who study conditions ranging from cancer and traumatic brain injury to rare diseases and other military health priorities, receive timely, well administered support throughout the life of their awards.
CDMRP is within the Defense Health Agency Research & Development, Medical Research and Development Command (DHA R&D-MRDC), and funds medical research across programs directed by Congress to address the needs of service members, veterans, their families, and the broader American public. Since its inception, CDMRP has grown to support research across a myriad of injuries, diseases, and conditions, including cancers, neurodegenerative disorders, psychological health, and other areas that are of high priority to Service Members, Veterans and their families.
