Boiling Springs, PA — August 17, 2026 — Sunbury Press, Pennsylvania’s largest independent book publisher, has launched the first East Coast chapter of the Author Event Network (AEN), expanding the publisher’s marketing and promotional resources for its authors. The new Sunbury Press AEN Chapter will initially focus on connecting authors with curated reader-facing opportunities including festivals, fairs, and community events in Pennsylvania, New York, and New Jersey, with plans to expand its reach as the chapter grows.
The partnership gives Sunbury Press authors a new avenue to promote their work beyond traditional book marketing channels, connect directly with readers, and build visibility within their local and regional communities. Through curated events and opportunities to collaborate with fellow authors, the chapter will help participating writers expand their reach while strengthening the author-focused community shared by Sunbury Press and AEN.
“The launch of the Sunbury Press AEN Chapter is another way we can create meaningful opportunities for our authors to connect with readers and promote their books,” said Lawrence Knorr, Founder and CEO of Sunbury Press. “We are excited to partner with an organization that shares our commitment to supporting independent authors and helping them find new audiences. This partnership opens the door to opportunities that individual authors may not otherwise have access to.”
The Author Event Network is a Seattle-based nonprofit organization with chapters in Seattle, Washington; Portland, Oregon; and now Pennsylvania through the Sunbury Press AEN Chapter. AEN connects independent authors with opportunities to engage directly with readers and their communities. Through AEN, authors can share booth space and associated event costs with other participating authors, helping reduce the expenses of attending events while creating more opportunities to sell books. Built on a model of authors helping authors, AEN fosters collaboration while ensuring that participating authors keep the profits from their book sales.
“We are thrilled to welcome Sunbury Press into the AEN community,” said Guy Morris, Founder of the Author Event Network. “This partnership expands AEN’s reach on the East Coast while allowing us to explore a new model for working directly with a publishing organization. We see this as an exciting opportunity to connect even more authors with readers and events in their communities.”
As part of the launch, Sunbury Press will cover the first year of AEN membership for all interested Sunbury Press authors, removing the cost barrier for authors who want to take advantage of the new event opportunities. The first Sunbury Press AEN Chapter event is set to take place in September 2026.
