InfraMarker connects Biomark PIT tag scans directly with GIS, automating fish and wildlife tracking and improving field data accuracy.
MADISON, WI, UNITED STATES, November 4, 2026 /EINPresswire.com/ — Berntsen International, Inc. and Biomark, part of Merck Animal Health (known as MSD Animal Health outside the United States and Canada), today announced expanded compatibility between Berntsen’s InfraMarker® RFID platform and Biomark’s RFID readers, including the new BPR3001 Reader.
The rugged, high-performance BPR3001 is designed for portable fish and wildlife tracking in demanding field environments. Its integration with InfraMarker expands the platform’s support across Biomark RFID readers, giving researchers and resource managers a direct connection between RFID-based animal identification and Geographic Information Systems (GIS).
Effective fish and wildlife tracking depends on accurate information about what was identified, where it was found, and when it was observed. InfraMarker helps capture that information at the point of activity by connecting Biomark RFID/PIT tag scans directly to GIS. A single scan can identify a tagged animal, associate the observation with its location, and launch a digital workflow for recording additional field data.
With InfraMarker, users can scan Biomark RFID/PIT tags within GIS-enabled workflows, reducing manual data entry and the potential for transcription errors in challenging outdoor environments. Researchers, conservationists, fisheries managers, and wildlife professionals can capture and update information in the field and make it available to teams through their existing GIS environment.
By bringing Biomark RFID identification and GIS together, InfraMarker helps turn individual animal observations into location-based data that can support research, population management, conservation planning, and more efficient field operations.
