CardFlight is now SwipeSimple
PR Newswire
NEW YORK, Oct. 6, 2026
The company behind SwipeSimple payment software used by 125,000+ small businesses formally adopts the name its merchants already use. Products, pricing, and accounts do not change.
NEW YORK, Oct. 6, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — CardFlight, Inc. today changed its legal and operating name to SwipeSimple, Inc. The company now operates under one name.

CardFlight launched in 2013 with a software development kit that let developers accept card payments on smartphones. The company later built its own app on those tools and called it SwipeSimple, a separate name for a separate product. Merchants signed up. Banks, payment processors, and independent sales organizations started reselling it. By the time the company retired the SDK, SwipeSimple accounted for more than 99 percent of revenue.
CardFlight stayed on the paperwork: the legal entity, the domain, the name on the contracts. Sales representatives, support teams, and merchants knew only SwipeSimple.
“SwipeSimple is the name our merchants trust and the name our partners sell,” said Derek Webster, Founder and CEO. “CardFlight was our original name. It served its purpose. We want doing business with us to be simple, and that starts with using one name, the one people already know.”
More than 125,000 merchants use SwipeSimple, with an average rating of nearly 4.8 stars in the iOS and Google Play stores. SwipeSimple does what a small business needs. In person, the merchant takes the card with a reader, a countertop terminal, or Tap to Pay on iPhone. When the customer is somewhere else, an invoice, a payment link, or a card keyed in over the phone gets the merchant paid. In the back office, saved cards, subscriptions and installment plans, payment reports, and a sync to QuickBooks Online keep the books straight. A merchant can be taking payments the same afternoon they sign up, on devices they already own. A bank or ISO can sell it without a long explanation and support it without a specialist team.
What changes and what does not
Accounts, logins, pricing, hardware, and support contacts stay as they are, and merchants and resellers do not need to do anything. Existing agreements with merchants, banks, payment processors, and resellers remain in force and have automatically been migrated to the new legal name, SwipeSimple, Inc., as applicable.
What comes next
“Our focus is the same,” Webster said. “Software a small business can set up in minutes, that a bank can sell with confidence, with people on the phone when either one needs help. From today, all of it goes by one name.”
