TMEIC Opens New Power Electronics Flagship Manufacturing Facility in Waller County, Texas
PR Newswire
WALLER COUNTY, Texas, Sept. 15, 2026
WALLER COUNTY, Texas, Sept. 15, 2026 /PRNewswire/ — TMEIC Corporation Americas (TMEIC), a group company of TMEIC Corporation (Japan), announces the opening of its new Twinwood manufacturing facility in Waller County, Texas. The 280,000-square-foot location is the company’s third American manufacturing facility and the largest and most advanced of its 13 facilities around the globe. This new facility will create over 200 new jobs in the greater Houston area, and as operations scale, employment will expand to 500 positions.
“This is not only the opening of a new flagship power electronics factory, but also an important milestone in TMEIC’s long history,” says Kensuke Miyano, Vice President, Power Electronics Systems Division, TMEIC Corporation. “Located in the energy capital of the world, TMEIC Twinwood will enable us to stay at the forefront of innovation and to serve growing industries, including artificial intelligence, infrastructure and energy, with advanced technologies for decades to come.”
The facility has the capacity to manufacture or assemble industrial-scale uninterruptible power supply (UPS) units for the rapidly expanding data center market, as well as high-power, medium-voltage drives and a broad range of advanced power electronics products. A client training center and leading-edge technology laboratories are also included, reinforcing the company’s client support and ongoing innovation capabilities for long-term growth in the U.S. market.
The Twinwood facility expands on TMEIC’s established investments and footprint in Houston. The company’s two other American manufacturing facilities, TMEIC Westport and TMEIC Katy, are also in the metropolitan area, as is its North American headquarters, located in the Houston Energy Corridor. The organization also has North American office operations in Roanoke, Virginia.
“Corporate responsibility and sustainable growth were at the top of our mind throughout the development of Twinwood, in myriad ways — how we can do our part to reduce carbon emissions, support our clients with the technology to help them achieve their own, and contribute in meaningful ways to this vibrant community,” said Manmeet Bhatia, President and CEO, TMEIC Corporation Americas. “Today, we begin the journey of honoring these closely held commitments by opening this facility with solar power generation and a battery energy storage system. Advancing our company toward the goal of carbon neutrality by 2050.”
The Twinwood grand opening was attended by TMEIC global leadership, clients, government representatives and project vendors. In recognition of the facility’s opening and its commitment as a responsible corporate citizen, TMEIC celebrated the occasion with donations to two local nonprofit organizations: United Way Houston, which provides financial stability services as well as child and youth development programs, and Habitat for Humanity, which provides affordable homes for families in need.
