A new narrative and platform positioning for how government programs run, not just what software they use
SACRAMENTO, CA / ACCESS Newswire / August 31, 2026 / SimpliGov, the government operations platform for state and local agencies, today introduced a new core narrative, refreshed visual identity, and new campaign titled “Built to Run.” This comes as program teams are facing changing compliance mandates, workforce turnover, and tightening budgets using outdated systems. SimpliGov’s refresh names that gap directly and positions the platform as the alternative to running programs by hand.
A New Core Narrative
Across state and local government, the pressure on program teams keeps rising, while the infrastructure underneath the work has faltered. Most agencies still coordinate the old-fashioned way: handwritten approvals, individual spreadsheet tracking, and documents buried in emails.
The cost of which trickles downstream. Handoffs disappear. Approvals sit untouched. Knowledge walks out the door the moment someone leaves. Consequently, constituents feel the pain. A veteran waits on a benefit; families encounter radio silence on housing support; a case stalls because the one person who understood it just left for another job.
Government carries the mission; it hasn’t always had the infrastructure to match it.
“Program teams don’t struggle because they aren’t working hard enough. They struggle because the systems around them weren’t built to keep up,” said Samantha Wagner, vice president of marketing at SimpliGov. “This narrative is the clearest way we’ve ever said what we believe: SimpliGov exists so the work actually moves – smoothly, efficiently, and transparently – in order to drive faster outcomes for the people counting on their municipalities.”
Built to Run
Built to Run introduces SimpliGov as the operations platform government runs on. It replaces manual, email, and spreadsheet-based coordination with a system that automatically tracks every step, handoff, and approval so nothing depends on one person.
“When our team sat down to build a campaign around the new narrative and identity, one line kept surfacing: government is built to run, constantly, for the people who depend on it. That’s the job signed up for by every program team. SimpliGov is what keeps those operations moving efficiently; for the moments that matter most,” said Wagner.
A Refreshed Identity
The SimpliGov logo isn’t changing. The “V,” the same V in “Gov,” has stood for movement, efficiency, and follow-through since the company’s earliest days. What has shifted is the company’s workflow motif. It now centers on a new visual identity. A recurring graphical line that runs on the idea of process movement showing one step moving into the next. The color system leans into gradients, with a defined set of primary tones anchoring the palette and moving deliberately from dark to light to echo the same idea: a running process rather than a stagnant job.
The refresh spans SimpliGov’s website and public-facing identity, including a new site built in partnership with Partywave and interactive product demos that let government teams see, step-by-step, how the platform can improve their own processes.
“We’ve been building this company for less than a decade, but the mark has always meant the same thing: speed and follow-through,” said David O’Connell, CEO of SimpliGov. “This refresh is about making sure everything we show reflects what we do: make the work run seamlessly.”
